Braeburn Valley Sections I & II Location

Location 

Braeburn Valley Sections I & II are located in Southwest Houston between Braeswood Blvd. and Bissonnet Street, just north of Brays Bayou and overlooking Houston's premier private country club and golf course, Braeburn County Club.

 

Many additional parks, private and public golf courses, and fitness centers are nearby, including the Bradshaw Fitness Center at Houston Christian University, Chancellor's Family Center, the Jewish Community Center, Westwood Country Club, and Sharpstown Park Golf Course.

 

The Braes Bayou Hike and Bike Trail runs adjacent to Braeburn Valley I & II, providing ten miles of path leading to the Houston Zoo, the Museum District, and the world-renowned Texas Medical Center.  Even closer is the Memorial Herman Southwest Hospital—only 1.5 miles away.

Love professional sports?  Toyota Center (World Champion Rockets basketball team), NRG Stadium (The Texans), Minute Maid Park (Astros baseball team), and The Houston Rodeo are less than 10 minutes away and are serviced by the METRO light rail (via the Fannin South stop.)

Braeburn Valley Sections I & II Neighborhood History

History 

Braeburn is a community of subdivisions in southwest Houston, Texas along Brays Bayou west of Hilcroft Avenue and south of the Sharpstown community.  Braeburn Valley Sections I & II is part of the larger community of Braeburn but remains an independent neighborhood subdivision with our own Garden Club and Civic Association. 

 

Mitchell Land Company, a Texas corporation, established Braeburn Valley Section I in 1954. Section I homes were built facing Braeburn Valley Drive, Valley View Lane, Old Haven Street, and Braes Bayou Drive. Section II was developed later with homes facing Nairn Street and the remainder of Braes Bayou Drive.

Braeburn Valley sections I & II is a deed-restricted community.  The Braeburn Valley Garden Club was first organized in 1959. It was restructured in 1980 when the Civic Committee separated from the Garden Club – becoming the Civic Association in 2011. Today, the Garden Club and Civic Association collectively work to preserve the neighborhood's beauty. The Civic Association serves as the Homeowners Association, and the Garden Club is responsible for social events.
